Shipping problems occurs after the Suez Canal incident
The follwing news is forwarded from MAERSK Company
Our Asia-North America network has accumulated significant delays in 2021, primarily due to continued terminal congestions on both coasts which was aggravated by congestions/adverse weather in Asia and latest by the Suez incident impacting our global network (including the 4 of our Asia-US East Coast services that pass the Suez canal in one or both directions).
This has led to each service/vessel rotation taking up to 2-3 weeks longer than standard proformas, causing gaps in the line-up and that several Asia departures have been spread apart by more than 7 days. We have alleviated the impact by deploying extra vessels into each service from Asia, which however has not been possible in full due lack of available vessels. All vessels in our fleet and any vessels that we have been able to charter have been and are actively deployed.
After careful review on the latest schedules, we will adjust the voyages numbers starting from below sailings in order to match the actual departure weeks and provide better schedule reliability and visibility.
